Going postal in Assassin's Creed
webz24 ASKS:
I've been playing Assassin's Creed religously for about a week now. My question is if anyone just goes on an absolutely random killing spree just to see how many guards you can take on at once?
OXM SAYS:
Hell yes! Especially because there's an Achievement for killing 25 guards in a row. Give it a try -- it can be harrowing to pull off. And since you're early in the game, we won't spoil anything, but suffice it to say that towards the end of the game, you'll get all the guard-fighting you can handle and then some.

yes, i rented the game for about two weeks and was never able to pull off that achivement becuase i would always start stuff inside a city, and i'd only get about 5 gaurds and then kill them and have the fight end, which was lame, and resulted in me never getting the achivement

All you realy have to do to get the 25 kills in a battle achievment: take your horse and in the kingdom right outside Jerusalem, run over a ton of guards- theyll start chasing you. once you have a bunch of guards on your tail, hop off the horse and fight them all =)

To answer your question, Masoncation, you have to kill them in a single fight. This pretty much means that you need to continuously be fighting; running away will cancel this. When I got the Eagle's Challenge achievement, I stayed locked on to a target at all times. If you're good enough, you can get both this one and Eagle's Flight (last 10 minutes in open combat) at the same time. You can do this pretty much at any point in during the game.

I love Assassins Creed, and embrace its flaws. I think of it as a medievel sandbox game.
But Question: To get the 25 kill achievement, do you have to kill 25 guards while in battle mode? Or simply 25 guards before a mission/killing a civilian?

There is an open courtyard in Acre, in the Middle District, I believe. You pass thru it to get to William of Montferrat? At one end is a arched entrance, and the other empties into the streets. Try knifing one of the guards at the archway, then move to the middle of the courtyard and wait for more to come. After each group is vanquished more will come to investigate until you are fighting in a pile of bodies. Just wait for them with your sword drawn and they will attack. See how long you can keep it up. I gave up and went off into the city after killing 130. Since the guards dont come in constant waves, you won't get the 25-kill achievement, unfortunately. There should at least have been some achievement for kills without dying. Still, it was fun to see how high the body count would go.

You should test your timing and "56th-hour-awake" eyesight trying to take on the biggest mass of guards you find with your hidden blade... HOLY ****!!!!! I got about 15 of them before I died...

Assassin's Creed is one of those game that are different from the others and has much repect, for example Fable. I find it fun to kill a huge group of guards and I always give the honor to my knief to taste the blood of the Last One Standing!!! Finish him with a counter-attack.

Dude that is the best part of the game! Kill a few people, start to run, escape the posse, and repeat! It's the best part of the game!

That's what I love about Assassin's Creed. You can walk up to any random person and assassinate them w/o anyone noticing. Then you're off to fight another day. (For all of you that have beaten the game: after you beat it, you can kill an innocent civilian w/o any penalty)

You can this and a bunch of other fight related achievements in the beginning of the game. Eagle's Challenge, Dive, Flight, Will, and Swiftness can all be gotten right away when you have to defend Masyaf; you still have all your abilities in the beginning. The guards respawn down the road toward the city gate. Don't run down there and trigger the cutscene until you've had your fill. Your status will remain 'in combat' even when no guards are around, so the 10 minute achievement is especially easy.

Ha! I got the 25 guard achievement after I killed the boss within the army. His personal guards and other city guards quickly racked up. The last guard I killed in that fight got me that achievement. :)

F*&K Yeah man! It is the coolest thing to just run around and kill some gaurds. Just watching some of the finishing move that he has is tight to watch and keep on doing.

I could never seem to get 25 guards to fight me before the guards gave up, it was always about 10 and then the last few ran away. or would not appear.

Straight up! It's so cool how Ubisoft knew that we gamers would want to bow at their feet when we got achievements just for screwing around like we all love to. LONG LIVE UBISOFT!
