UEFA Euro 2008

WORDS BY: Cameron Lewis

UEFA Euro 2008 narrows the FIFA ranks to just 52 teams in competition for the confederation’s crown, but it still delivers realistic control, convincing independent ball physics, and smooth online play-making. Europe’s weather more convincingly impacts pitch conditions, and Captain Your Country Mode turns the already rewarding experience of playing as a pro into a competition for team leadership. Take your second-rate club to the top against all odds, and you’ll boost your true favorite’s position in the online standings. It’s odd to see the addition of a library of user-controlled goal celebrations, given that A.I. teammates can still be painfully slow to react. But the game’s satisfying highlights keep even persistent series flaws from taking control of the field.

On Xbox 360
7.5
  • Tight physics, control, and online play.
  • Sharp new Captain Your Country Mode.
  • Much smaller roster of teams.
  • Does the world really love soccer enough to want two games per year? Okay, yeah, stupid question...
COMMENTS:

And just recently Manchester united lost the league, maybe they should buy steroids and get some faster players.

to the idiot below me
its called the EUROS for a reason
THE EUROPEAN teams play in it
so obviously
the US isnt going to be in it.

I played the demo and it was really good. But since the U.S. isn't in it i don't really want to buy it.

Manchester United won the championship today, what a game!
